The Delaware Area Response Team (DART) is the county’s hazardous materials response team and is composed of Delaware County’s thirteen fire departments, Delaware County EMS, Delaware General Health Department, and The Delaware County Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Management.
DART is broken down into eleven areas of responsibility to enable a scalable response depending upon the situation. A small leak or spill may only require one or two of the sub-teams; where as a large incident would require the entire team.
DART holds monthly meetings to discuss hazmat issues, to conduct training, to plan for incidents, and to hold exercises.
